Making good people helpless, won't make bad people harmless.
NRA Basic Pistol Shooting:
Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.
This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from standard positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet; take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination; and receive a course completion certificate. NRA membership is not required to be a student. A FOID card is not a requirement to be a student.
What sets us apart from the rest? An extra step we take is to use laser training pistols in the classroom while teaching shooting fundamentals. The benefit to the student is instant feedback on how they are performing with sight alignment and sight picture.
