UTAH Concealed Firearms Instructor Certification
Chief Instructor Brian Konopa becomes Certified to teach Utah Concealed Carry
May 3, 2014 --
2nd Amendment Defense Inc. owner Brian Konopa has received instructor training for the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit. The course was administered by Jeff Dunn and Phil Leiker from the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification. This training allows Brian to conduct classes that students will need to take to obtain the Utah permit. The course that students will be required to take is at least four hours long and is entirely classroom based. The desire to take this class and subsequently provide training to others was a result of the support and encouragement from former students who have expressed an interest in receiving their Utah permit. Training for students is expected to begin at the end of June.
The states that will be gained by a student who already has the Illinois license are: Delaware, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. However, it is not mandatory that a student receive an Illinois license in order to obtain a Utah permit.
The states that are redundant are Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, and Wisconsin. A student without the Illinois license would not be allowed to carry in Illinois, but would be allowed to carry in the states above.
